Project Management

Professional expertise

Project Management for land development must include a broad range of expertise, which at a minimum includes:

  • Selection of qualified consultants for the required disciplines
  • Preparation of land development budgets and schedules
  • Monitoring and tracking of variance in budgets and  schedules
  • Governmental liaison for entitlement and permitting

Efficient project management begins with the selection of the consulting team, whose members must have expertise, experience, knowledge of the local area, and good relationships with the governing authority and the regulatory agencies.  It is often necessary to choose the individual, rather than the company and often to choose individuals from different companies.  Proper selection of the team can result in savings of time, money and the ultimate success of the project.

The consultant team typically includes the project development manager, land use/environmental attorney, civil engineer, traffic engineer, geotechnical engineer, surveyor, land planner/landscape architect, wetlands/endangered species consultant and Phase 1 environmental consultant.
